Los Angeles FC forward Denis Bouanga is back to looking like one of Major League Soccer's best players after scoring both goals in LAFC's 2-2 draw with St. Louis City on Sunday.

The Gabon national team star's pace and brilliance in space was on full display when Bouanga equalized in the final moments of the match. The 30-year-old bounced back from missing a penalty kick earlier in the second half that allowed St. Louis to snatch the lead late.

The visitors first took the lead in the 52nd minute through Cedric Teuchert, a goal that came completely against the run of play. LAFC would not be deterred and it was Bouanga who leveled in the 70th minute from Cengiz Ünder's cross.

But after the hosts drew a penalty, Bouanga's spot kick was saved by St. Louis goalkeeper Ben Lundt leading to a dramatic finale that culminated with Bouanga's brilliant equalizer.

Bouanga now has four goals and two assists in his last three matches, bringing his league total to four goals and two assists in nine games. Off to an indifferent start in the middle of the Western Conference table, LAFC will hope to claim all three points when they next host Houston Dynamo on Saturday.
