The Tunisian Football Federation (FTF) proceeded with its extraordinary general assembly and election for the presidency over the weekend. Moez Nasri was elected to the position after capturing 247 out of 438 votes, over 100 more than nearest closest challenger Mahmoud Hammami.

Nasri spoke to the media and acknowledged the imminent challenges ahead and most urgent issues he will address. One of the most pressing issues is the Tunisia national team head coach position which has been vacant since the dismissal of Faouzi Benzarti following October's shock home defeat to Comoros in 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying. Tunisia did manage to qualify under interim coach Kais Yaâkoubi who has since left.

The new president also mentioned the work to come regarding domestic football in the North African nation. Nasri stated that the FTF will continue to work with FIFA on implementing more efficient use of VAR technology to avoid unnecessary delays in matches while other pressing financial issues related to Tunisia's domestic football will be addressed.

Nasri thanked the voters for their support as well as the nation's clubs for giving him the responsibilities that come with the presidency. His four-year term is set to run until 2029.
