In a rare and unexpected scene, Egyptian star Mohamed Elneny was involved in a clash with Baniyas head coach Daniel Isăilă while playing with his Emirati club Al Jazira during their UAE Pro League clash.
Al Jazira hosted Baniyas at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Matchweek 14, but the game ended with an unfavorable resulf for Elneny's club as Baniyas secured a 1-0 victory. Serbian forward Lazar Marković scored the game’s only goal in the 12th minute of the first half.

The incident occurred in the 20th minute when the ball went out for an Al Jazira throw-in.
Elneny stepped off the pitch to retrieve the ball, but the cameras did not capture the exact cause of the confrontation. When the broadcast returned to the scene, Elneny was already engaged in a clash with Daniel Isăilă, before the cameras cut away again.
Several individuals quickly intervened and tensions didn't escalate further. The referee then booked both Elneny and Isăilă, issuing them yellow cards.
Elneny’s journey with Al Jazira
Elneny joined Al Jazira on a free transfer at the start of the season after leaving Arsenal.
Since his arrival, the Egyptian midfielder has featured in 15 matches, scoring one goal, and providing one assist.
