Morocco giants Wydad Athletic Club have captured former Ghana U-23 striker Samuel Obeng in the transfer window.
The Spain-born forward moves the Moroccan Botola League in the winter transfer window from Portuguese second tier club, Casa Pia. Obeng is expected to play an important role at the club coached by South African trainer Rulani Mokoena.
The 27-year-old, who has spent most of his career in Spain, will be playing for an African club for the first time in his career.
His only familiarity with playing in North Africa was after making Ghana's squad for the CAF U23 Cup of Nations in 2019 in Egypt where he was Ghana's best player at the tournament, scoring two goals.
The forward has featured for clubs in Spain since he embarked on his European adventure, playing for Getafe, Girona, Real Oviedo, Granollers and Calahorra.
His brief spell in Portugal saw him score a goal in 11 matches for Casa Pia.
