The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed Mozambican Football Federation (FMF) president Feizal Ismael Sidat’s candidature for Executive Committee membership.
Sidat will represent the Southern Africa zone of the Council of Southern African Football Associations (COSAFA) in the CAF elections, the FMF confirmed via a statement.
The statement says CAF has vetted the FMZ’s boss’s candidature. The confirmation follows the eligibility verification process conducted by the CAF Governance Committee.
Apart from Feizal, CAF also certified Wallace John Karia, Mustapha Ishola Raji, Elvis Raja Chetty, Sadi Walid, Sobha Mohamad Ally Samir, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, Alfred Randriamanampisoa and Bestine Kazadi Ditabala as eligible for the executive membership.
However, CAF reportedly ruled out Cameroonians Samuel Eto'o Fils and Seidou Njoya after they failed eligibility tests, according to media reports.
The elections are scheduled for the 14th CAF Extraordinary General Assembly on March 12, 2025, in Cairo, Egypt.
In addition to the election of the Executive Committee members, the CAF President and the continental representatives to the FIFA Council will be elected at this event.
