Mozambique’s record league champions, Clube de Desportos da Costa do Sol (Costa do Sol) have added Portuguese Guilherme Vasconcelos to the coaching panel to work as head coach Baciro Candé’s assistant.
Costa do Sol confirmed the hiring of the 26-year-old Portuguese, saying he “brings extensive experience in football having served Mozambique senior national football team and defending champions Black Bulls FC.
“A specialist in performance analysis, game study and evaluation of athletes' performance, Guilherme still stands out as a spotter, with a true clinical eye for talent hunters,” reads the club’s statement.
He joins the panel of Candé who was Guinea-Bissau’s long-serving coach from 2016 to 2024 leading the West Africans to qualification for four successive AFCON finals.
He now has a huge task to revive the fortunes of the 10-time Mozambique champions who have since started the 2025 season with a goalless draw against Maputo rivals Maxaquene.
