Asante Kotoko made a fine return to football after over a month’s temporary break due to the death of their ardent supporter, Yaw Frimpong, who has since been buried.

The Porcupine Warriors defeated Legon Cities by 2-0 in the Week 23 Ghana Premier League game at the Baba Yara Stadium over the weekend to keep their dreams of winning the Premier League title alive.

The record Ghana Premier League holders produced another fine football on Wednesday afternoon, securing a narrow victory over lower-tier side Eleven Wise to advance to the quarterfinals of the MTN FA Cup.

The match, initially set for February 23, 2025, was postponed due to Kotoko’s delayed return to competitive action. Former Liberty Professionals forward, Elvis Kyei Baffour scored the decisive goal just before halftime.

The two-time African club champions have now set up a quarter final clash another lower tier side, True Democracy. The quarterfinal matches are scheduled for the weekend of March 28.
