Head coach of Asante Kotoko Prosper Narteh Ogum has reacted to their slim victory over Eleven Wise in the delayed MTN FA Cup round 16 encounter on Wednesday.

The Porcupine Warriors recorded a 1-0 win at the Baba Yara Stadium to secure a quarter final spot of the second most important football competition in Ghana.

The match, initially set for February 23, 2025, was postponed due to Kotoko’s delayed return to competitive action. Former Liberty Professionals forward, Elvis Kyei Baffour scored the decisive goal just before halftime.

Prosper Narteh Ogum in a post-match interview admits that the opposition had a strong team.

“It was a good game, both teams played very well, we tried as much as possible to make sure that we keep possession of the ball and try to play the ball behind the defensive line because we realized that they mostly stayed on the low block or the medium block.

“So we tried to keep the ball and anytime the opportunity came we played the ball behind them,” Prosper Narteh Ogum told the media.

“We created some decent chances and I think their goalkeeper was excellent, they also got a very excellent defensive line so I think both teams played well.”

The two-time African club champions have now set up a quarter final clash against another lower tier side, True Democracy. The quarterfinal matches are scheduled for the weekend of March 28.
