Namibia senior women’s football team coach Nicolas Jacobs has outlined his target in the forthcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers.

He said this after summoning 40 players for the Brave Gladiators’ camp training ahead of the first-round qualifiers against neighbours Eswatini later this month.

Jacobs said although 2024 was a good year for him and her charges, the big test starts now, according to the Namibia Football Association website.

“The qualifiers will not be easy, but we are determined to ensure that we qualify for this upcoming WAFCON,” he said.

“Last year, we played a few international friendlies which boosted our confidence and morale, the technical team was impressed with the results but this year we need to do better and win more matches.”

The Brave Gladiators will report for camp on Sunday, 9 February 2025 ahead of the trip to Eswatini for the first leg scheduled for 19 February 2025 followed by the second leg at Dobsonville Stadium on 26 February 2025.
