Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has called for patience as he works round the clock to build a strong team that can challenge for titles.
Amakhosi moved to seventh on the Premier Soccer League (PSL) following their 1-0 win against Chippa United in their last game of 2024.
Asked to reflect about his tenure so far with Chiefs, Nabi said as quoted by idiskitimes: “Honestly, you think I change for results? Me… honestly, why don’t you accept that I have come for a project? Why? Why do you refuse this as the media?
“I give you a question; why do you refuse this? Because it’s not good for you as the media, you need a reaction as the media. If the coach talks about the process of building the team, this doesn’t provoke reactions from the fans and business for yourself.”
The Tunisian coach continued: “This is not what [you want]. You push me, you ask why you only win this game or that, me I come for a process guys; I trust in my project with Kaizer Chiefs. I know you guys don’t like listening to this.
“Before me, you heard before, building, building… you don’t like to listen to this building [talk]. But I have come to build, you want or don’t want? You understand me – because if you talk another response like this you will say I’m not right, I’m not correct.”
Nabi further took issues with media, whom he accused of writing lies about his arrival at Chiefs: “Listen to me, it’s not possible that in June I came here and said I want to build and have these steps, objectives and then after a [few months] I say I want to win everything, it’s not correct like that,” he explained.
