Nedbank Cup holders Orlando Pirates have been drawn against SuperSport United in the quarterfinals of South Africa's top cup competition following the draw held on Monday evening in Johannesburg.
Held at the studios of teleivision channel SuperSport, the draw saw most Betway Premiership sides avoiding each in the last-eight phase with Kaizer Chiefs set to face Stellenbosch FC, opponents AmaKhosi have beaten twice in the league this season.
Giant killers Durban City will line up against Marumo Gallants, a reward for the second-tier leaders for their Round of 16 upset of TS Galaxy. Gallants edged AmaZulu 1-0 to sail through and will be happy to face the only club left from outside the top flight.
The other tie will see Mamelodi Sundowns facing the winner between Royal AM/Milford FC and Sekhukhune United. Royal AM are currently unable to fulfill their fixtures due to financial problems arising from a legal dispute. The Premier Soccer League (PSL) announced that a decision is forthcoming in their announcement of the fixture's postponement.
The PSL has since announced that the quarterfinals will take place on the weekend of 8 and 9 March 2025. Exact dates, venues and kick-off times will be announced.
