Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Brandon Petersen has warned his teammates not to underrate Free Agents FC whom they will face in round 32 of the Nedbank Cup.
Amakhosi were drawn to face drawn to face the Gauteng ABC Motsepe League side during the draw conducted on Thursday. Chiefs will host their third-tier opponents on the weekend of 25-27 January in what is sure to be an intriguing encounter, pitting one of the giants of African football against the lower league minnows from Eesterus in Pretoria.
“Obviously, I am excited, happy with the draw. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter who we draw, we are always looking to win our next game,” said Petersen as quoted by www.kaizrchiefs.com.
In the recent past, Chiefs have fallen victims of giant killing upsets and asked to discuss the same, Petersen said: “We cannot dwell on the past. We will simply focus on the game at hand. We need to go out and play our won game; do what we do best, and ensure we get the result.
“The opportunities to win trophies decrease as the season progresses so we are even more determined to make the best of this one. Everyone is united in the quest to end the drought and win a trophy for our Chairman, ourselves and our amazing fans and we will give everything to achieve that goal.”
While Chiefs will face the minnows, defending champions Orlando Pirates will begin their title defence against Richards Bay while PSL champions Mamelodi landed a better draw as they will face Sibanye Golden Stars.
