New Stellenbosch FC signing Lesiba Nku has promised to help the Betway Premiership club perform at the highest level in all fronts.

Nku, who is renowned for his technical ability and dynamic attacking play, was confirmed as a Stellenbosch player on transfer deadline day after leaving reiging champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

The 28-year-old has experience playing at the highest level of South African and CAF football from his stints with Marumo Gallants, where he played alongside current SFC defender Ismael Toure, and Sundowns where he boasts winners’ medals in both the Premiership and the African Football League.

In an interview with the club’s official website, Nku said: “I’m happy to be at Stellenbosch FC and I’m looking forward to playing football and doing my best for the club,” Nku said after putting pen to paper. “Everyone has been very welcoming so I’m excited to finally get started.”

He added: “Stellenbosch is a good club and the way the team plays, using a lot of speed and fast players, suits my style of play. We’re still competing in the Nedbank Cup, and pushing in the league and the CAF Confederation Cup, so I’m hoping I can use my experience to challenge in these competitions.”

On his message to the fans, he said: “The fans can expect to see the same Lesiba Nku as they know, and even a bit more now because I’m hungrier to play,” the 28-year-old added. “I can’t wait to meet them all and to play at the Danie Craven Stadium, and I can promise that I will give my all for the jersey.”

Nku could be in line to make his debut for the club when the Maroons host Sekhukhune United in a Betway Premiership clash at Danie Craven Stadium on Saturday.
