Nigeria players – defender Leon Balogun and forward Cyriel Dessers – were on target as Rangers secured a comfortable 3-0 Scottish Premiership win against Aberdeen at Ibrox Stadium on Wednesday.
Former AS FAR forward Hamza Igamane opened the scoring early in the match before Leon Balogun and Cyriel Dessers sealed the game with two injury time goals. Igamane put Rangers ahead after the striker lifted a right-footed shot into the back of the net for his seventh goal in six matches.
Balogun, who has been out of action owing to injury and made a return in the game but was named on the bench, was introduced in the 75th minute for Robin Propper.
The Super Eagle had a chance to double Rangers lead but his header from Vaclav Cerny went inches wide. However, he made amends to score the second when he headed home a cross from Clinton Nsiala.
Rangers were not done yet as Dessers wrapped up the huge win in the 97th minute with a fine finish. Dessers has now featured twenty times for Rangers in the league, scoring seven goals and providing two assists.
Meanwhile, Balogun has managed 13 appearances so far this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
