Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq continues to thrive with La Liga club Valencia and his newfound confidence in the Spanish top flight was recognized after he won La Liga's Goal of the Month award for March.
Sadiq's clever backheel strike in a 3-3 away draw for Valencia at Osasuna won him the award. Sadiq scored twice in the match and has scored four goals in eight La Liga matches since joining on loan from Real Sociedad, where the former Almería star really struggled to find his form after joining for €20 million at the beginning of the 2022-23 campaign.
The 28-year-old is adding an extra punch to the Valencia attack since joining. Sadiq also scored the match winner in Valencia's 2-1 victory over Real Valladolid a week after his backheel goal.
Sadiq continues to struggle to get into the loaded Nigeria national team where there is a surplus of attacking talent but continued success with Valencia may get him back into the Super Eagles setup. He and Valencia return to action on March 30 when they host Mallorca in La Liga action.
