Nile League: Adel volley helps Pyramids to narrow victory away from home

Matchday 14 of the Nile Egyptian League continued today with three exciting fixtures as Pyramids FC moved back into first place ahead of defending champions Al Ahly.


Pyramids secures away win over Modern Sport and extends winning streak


Pyramids FC continued their impressive form with a 1-0 victory over Modern Sport in the Nile Egyptian League to reclaim top spot.


The only goal of the game came in the second minute of first-half stoppage time when Ibrahim Adel finished a well-delivered cross from Mohamed Chibi.




is match marked the debut of Abdelhak Benchikha as the head coach of Modern Sport. However, his tenure began with a defeat leaving his side with just one win in 14 league matches—ironically, their only victory was against Zamalek.


Pyramids' triumph extended their unbeaten run to 15 matches across all competitions, including 13 wins. It was also their fifth consecutive victory.

Pyramids FC: 1st place, 33 points (one point ahead of Al Ahly)


Modern Sport: 18th (last place), 8 points


ENPPI stages a comeback and secures away draw against Ceramica


ENPPI and Ceramica Cleopatra shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw.


Ceramica took the lead through Mahmoud Zalaka in the 22nd minute, who capitalized on a through ball to slot the ball home. Ahmed Belhadji doubled their advantage in the 28th minute after a pass from Fakhri Lakay inside the box.


But ENPPI responded with a comeback. Hisham Adel pulled one back in the 33rd minute with a header from a corner delivered by Ziad Kamal.


The equalizer came in the 60th minute when Rafik Kabou finished a well-placed pass from Ahmed Kalosha, scoring in a similar manner to Ceramica’s first goal.



With this result, Ceramica Cleopatra are now winless in their last four league matches, while Enppi failed to win in their last 10 league games.

Ceramica Cleopatra: 6th place, 21 points


Enppi: 17th place, 9 points


Late winner secures victory for Al Ittihad over El Gouna


Al Ittihad Alexandria secured a late 1-0 home victory against El Gouna, with Fady Farid netting the decisive goal in the 87th minute. Farid executed a one-two header combination with Youssef Osama Nabih before finishing past the goalkeeper.



This win ended Al Ittihad's three-match streak without victory.
