Nile League: Al Ahly crush Ismaily; Zamalek draw on Peseiro's coaching debut

The 14th round of the Nile Egyptian League kicked off today with four matches.


Ahly crushes Ismaily to go top of the league


Ahly climbed to the top of the league table after a 4-0 victory over Ismaily.


Marwan Attia opened the scoring in the 9th minute with a penalty. Emam Ashour doubled the lead in the 51st minute with a strike from inside the box.


Hussein El Shahat made it 3-0 in the 83rd minute after a one-on-one finish. Ahmed Reda sealed the win with a long-range shot in the 87th minute.



Emam Ashour continues his impressive form, solidifying his position as the league’s top scorer with nine goals this season. The midfielder has now netted 12 times in his last ten matches across all competitions for Ahly.


This marks Ahly’s fourth consecutive league victory. Meanwhile, Ismaily got their fifth straight league defeat.


With this win, Ahly leads the table with 32 points, two ahead of Pyramids, who still have a game to play this round against Modern Sport. Ismaily sits in 14th place with 12 points.


Late drama as Zamalek and Petrojet settle for draw


Zamalek and Petrojet played out a dramatic 1-1 draw in the dying minutes of the match.


The game remained goalless until stoppage time when Mostafa El Gamal put Petrojet ahead with a brilliant solo effort in the 94th minute. However, Zamalek responded immediately as Nasser Mansy netted the equalizer in the 95th minute.



Current Standings:


Zamalek sits third with 27 points.


Petrojet is in eighth place with 18 points.


National Bank returns to winning ways with big win over Smouha


National Bank secured a 4-1 victory against Smouha.


Ahmed Yasser Rayan opened the scoring in the 21st minute after dribbling against the goalkeeper and a defender before slotting the ball into an empty net. Abdelkabir El Ouadi equalized for Smouha in the 47th minute after a one-two with Mostafa El Badry.


Yaw Annor restored National Bank’s lead in the 61st minute with a strike from outside the box. Osama Faisal made it 3-1 from the penalty spot in the 75th minute before sealing the victory with a brilliant skill and finish in the 87th minute.



Current Standings:


National Bank climbs to fifth with 22 points.


Smouha is in 11th with 17 points.


Haras El Hodood defeats Pharco


Haras El Hodood secured a 2-0 victory over Pharco.


Striker Mohamed Mamdouh was the hero, scoring both goals. He opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with a composed finish inside the box and doubled the lead in the 74th minute with a well-placed shot.



This marks Haras El Hodood’s fifth win in their last six league matches.


Current Standings:


Haras El Hodood moves up to sixth place with 21 points.


Pharco drops to ninth place with 18 points.
