Nile League: Pyramids dominate Zamalek to extend lead at the top

In a clash between two of Egypt's "Big 3" on Friday, Pyramids FC secured a crucial 3-0 victory over Zamalek in the Nile Egyptian League. The win strengthens their grip on the top spot, extending their lead over second and third place holders Ahly and Zamalek to four points.


Pyramids 3-0 Zamalek: Notable moments


* Fiston Mayele broke the deadlock in the 58th minute, showcasing individual skill inside the penalty box before slotting home with his left foot.


* Mostafa Fathi doubled the advantage just six minutes later, capitalizing on a one-on-one opportunity against the Zamalek goalkeeper.


* Ibrahim Adel scored the third goal in the 70th minute, finishing off a low cross from Ramadan Sobhi.



With this victory, Pyramids now have 24 points, establishing a four-point lead at the top of the league table, while Zamalek remain in third with 20 points behind rivals Al Ahly on goal difference.


Mayele’s goal against Zamalek takes his tally to five goals this season in the Nile Egyptian League, making him the second-highest scorer in the league just behind Zamalek’s Nasser Mansi (6 goals).


Haras El Hodoud snatch a victory over El Gouna


Haras El Hodoud continued their run with a 1-0 away win against El Gouna, marking their third consecutive league victory.
