The 17th and final round of the first phase in the Nile Egyptian League continued today with three matches.
ENPPI 0-3 Zamalek
Zamalek ended their three-game winless streak, securing a 3-0 victory over ENPPI—their first win under Portuguese head coach José Peseiro.
Abdallah El-Said opened the scoring in the 53rd minute from the penalty spot and Nasser Mansi doubled Zamalek’s lead in the 66th minute with a header following a cross from Mahmoud Bentayg.
Mansi’s goal took his league tally to nine, making him the league's joint top scorer alongside Al Ahly’s Emam Ashour.
El-Said completed the rout in stoppage time (94’), finishing after an assist from Seif Farouk Gaafar.
This victory moves Zamalek to third place with 32 points, while ENPPI remains 17th with just 12 points in the relegation zone.
ZED FC 2-2 Ismaily
A competitive contest between ZED and Ismaily ended in a 2-2 draw, keeping both teams in risky positions in the table.
Mostafa Saad "Messi" put ZED ahead in the 28th minute after winning possession, moving and firing into the net. Mohamed Khatari equalized for Ismaily in the 34th minute with a strike inside the box.
Marwan Hamdy gave Ismaily the lead in the 40th minute after a pass allowed him to slot the ball home but Ali Gamal rescued a point for ZED in the 76th minute with a header following Ahmed El-Saghiry’s cross.
This draw extends Ismaily’s winless run to eight league matches, although they finally found the net after going five consecutive games without scoring.
* ZED moves up to ninth place with 21 points, currently in a playoff position for the championship round. However, Tala’ea El Gaish (also on 21 points) has a game in hand against Ahly. ZED needs El Gaish to lose to secure their qualification.
* Ismaily remains in 16th place with 14 points near the relegation zone.
Al Ittihad 0-1 Smouha
Smouha secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Al Ittihad, ending their three-game losing streak.
Mostafa El Badry scored the game’s only goal in the 67th minute, capitalizing on a spilled ball after Al Ittihad’s goalkeeper lost it following a collision with a Smouha player.
This result marks Al Ittihad’s third consecutive defeat.
* Smouha climbs to 11th place with 20 points.
* Al Ittihad drops to 13th place with 18 points.
