Beldine Odemba started her job at Kenya Police with a 0-0 draw against Kariobangi Sharks in a Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League fixture at Dandora Stadium on Friday.

Odemba, who doubles up as the coach of Harambee Starlets, was handed the job on an interim basis to help turn around the law enforcers poor start to the season, following the sacking of coach Salim Babu and the entire technical bench.

“It was a closely fought game, we had to keep our focus to earn the point and I am happy my team played according to instructions,” Odemba said after the game. “It is my first match and I hope to get even better in subsequent matches.”

The draw left Police sitting 15th on the 18-team league table with seven points accumulated from one win, four draws and one defeat. Meanwhile, Sharks remained third on the log with 14 points.

Elsewhere, KCB extended their lead at the table following a 2-1 win against FC Talanta at the same venue. Francis Kahiro scored the opener for the Bankers in the 18th minute before Osoro Emmanuel equalised for Talanta in the 90th minute.

With the game heading to a draw, the Bankers snatched a late winner courtesy of Maurice Owino to take their tally of points to 20 from nine matches. They have managed six wins, two draws and suffered one defeat. Talanta stayed 17th with six points.
