Onduparaka FC and Soroti Thunders FC have received a suspended sanction of three points and three goals from the FUFA Disciplinary Panel (FDP) for breaching Article 15(37) of the FUFA Competitions Rules and Regulations.
Onduparaka failed to honor their Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 64 fixture against Bushenyi Veterans FC on January 16, 2025.
The club cited their request for a postponement to prepare for the memorial of their former player Rashid Agau but FUFA declined their appeal. Similarly, Soroti Thunders, a Regional League side did not show up for their scheduled match against Blacks Power FC on the same day.
While Soroti Thunders and their supporters gathered at Kidetok Primary School playground in Serere, their opponents and match officials were present at the officially designated venue, Soroti Stadium.
The suspended sanction will be enforced in the respective leagues of Onduparaka (Big League) and Soroti Thunders (Regional League) should they fail to honor another Uganda Cup match.
The FDP has also issued a strong caution to both clubs, warning that any further violations of FUFA Competitions Rules will result in stricter disciplinary measures.
