Cape Town City coach Muhsin Ertugral has labelled Orlando Pirates as one of the best teams in the continent as the two sides prepare to face off in a Betway Premiership fixture at DHL Stadium on Wednesday.
Cape Town City will head into the fixture at the back of their 1-0 win against Kaizer Chiefs in another fixture on Sunday. Pirates will come up against a Cape Town City side, who have proven formidable on home turf, where they have collected the vast majority of their points haul.
In five league matches at DHL Stadium, they have emerged victorious on three occasions, only dropping points through a stalemate against Magesi and a 1-0 defeat to AmaZulu.
Looking forward to the clash against the Buccaneers, Ertugral said as quoted by Hollywoodbets Sports Blog: “Orlando Pirates at the moment are one of the best teams not only in South Africa but on the continent. We need to get over this performance as quickly as possible and we’ll see, because both teams can play a very tactical approach.”
On his team, Ertugral explained: “There's really a lot of quality in our team. It is important with these type of teams, or this type of football, that you always want to see individualism, these bold virtuosas. But collectiveness is sometimes missing in South African football, the organisation that has to be in synergy.”
Ahead of the fixture, Pirates have confirmed the absence of midfielder Makhehleni Makhaula owing to suspension. Makhaula picked up a caution against Magesi – his fourth of the season – which triggered a one-match ban.
