Mamelodi Sundowns forward, Lucas Ribeiro has admitted that they had a tough time in their massive victory over Orlando Pirates over the weekend.
The Brazilians made a mincemeat of The Sea Robbers by 4-1 in their week 15 encounter at the Loftus Versefiled Stadium with Lucas Ribeiro scoring a brace on the 27th and the 29th minutes.
The double stroke shot the Brazilian striker’s tally to 9 goals in 13 league matches of the Premier Soccer League. In an interview with South Africa-based media outlet, SuperSport, the 26-year-old revealed the toughness of the game.
“To be honest the game was very difficult today, to be honest I’m not the best player for the game but my team played very very good. It was a very difficult game for me because of its physicality and they [Orlando Pirates] counter press.
“So the coach said it was going to be a difficult game and I needed to give my one hundred percent so that they can actually get the best result out of it.”
The massive victory consolidated Sundowns points haul at the top to 42 points, nine above second pLaced Pirates from 15 matches with Pirates on one game less.
