Victor Osimhen continued his sensational form on Friday for Turkish Super Lig leaders Galatasaray.
Nigeria's favorite Super Eagle scored a hat-trick as his club extended their lead to ten points over rivals Fenerbahce with a 4-0 victory over Antalyaspor. Osimhen's first goal arrived in the 30th minute when Alvaro Morata's low cross found the poacher for an easy finish at the far post.
After Morata converted a penalty kick in the 45th minute, visitors Antalyaspor tried to escape to halftime with only a two-goal deficit but Osimhen had other ideas. Direct play from the hosts in stoppage time saw a near replica of Osimhen's first goal as he once again was in the right spot to finish another low cross.
The match was over by the time the halftime whistle arrived but with the title of top scorer in range for the Nigerian, there was no let up in his quest for more goals. Having already overtaken İstanbul Başakşehir's Polish striker Krzysztof Piątek on the charts with his second goal, in the 52nd minute Osimhen moved two goals ahead with a routine finish.
Osimhen becomes the first player to reach the twenty goal mark in the Turkish top flight this season, now having accumulated 20 goals and 4 assists in 22 matches. Now his attention turns to reviving Nigeria's slumping 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign where the Super Eagles need to win in Rwanda (March 21) and at home against Zimbabwe (March 25).
