Ghana Premier League giants, Hearts of Oak suffered a shocking exit from the FA Cup last weekend at the Legon Stadium.
The Phobians were kicked out by Division One League club, Golden Kicks via a 4-3 penalty shootouts after the entire game ended goalless. It is the second consecutive season the Phobians have been kicked out of the competition of which they are the record holders - having suffered similar fate last season against another Division One side, Nania fc.
Head coach of ghe 2000 CAF Champions League winners, Aboubakar Ouattara, has attributed the team's attacking unit for their shocking round 16 elimination. "We squandered many chances. Our attacking machinery was weak," Ouattara said in an interview on Asempa FM, expressing his disappointment in the team's attacking struggles.
The Phobian Club dominated possession but failed to find the net, forcing the match into a penalty shootout. The 2001 CAF Super Cup winners will now shift their focus to the Ghana Premier League, which is reportedly set to resumes on March 7.
