Petro de Luanda key players have stated that they will settle for nothing short of maximum points when meeting Bravos do Maquis on Sunday afternoon.
Luis García and Pedro Aparacio said this ahead of the Girabola match at 11 de Novembro Stadium in Luanda. Aparício said they need maximum points to consolidate their lead at the league summit.
"We are confident for tomorrow's game because we are Petro and we go with the same ambition: to win!, " he said.
Taking his turn, Garcia admitted that the opponents could pose problems to the leaders. Garcia said: "We believe in hard work. We have have full confidence that tomorrow we will give everything on the field to win the three points."
Petro de Luanda will once again need ageless centre forward Tiago Azulão, scorer in the 1-0 win over São Salvador do Kongo earlier in the week, to step up. Ricardo Chéu's men have 46 points from 14 wins and four draws. Petro have scored 32 goals and conceded only eight.
Bravos do Maquis assistant coach Mariano Julio has since urged his side to step up their game. Bravos lie in fifth place and are coming from a one-all draw with Luanda City.
