South African coach Pitso Mosimane's Esteghlal SC gave away a lead to settle for a one-all draw with Sepahan SC in Iranian Persian Pro Gulf League match on Thursday afternoon.

Kenyan striker Masoud Juma put Esteghlal SC ahead with a 22nd minute finish at a packed Shahr-e Qods Stadium. However, as has been the story for the better part of the season, visitors Sepahan responded through winger Mehdi Limouchi with 14 minutes remaining on the clock.

The fourth consecutive league draw left Mosimane's charges in 10th place lying a distant 14 points off the pace from table-topping Tractor FC. Sepahan, coached by ex-TP Mazembe coach Patrice Carteron, occupy second place on 32 points from 15 games trailing leaders Tractor FC on goal difference.

Former Al Ahly mentor Mosimane joined the Iranian outfit on a year-long contract in October 2024, replacing Sohrab Bakhtiarizadeh.
