Saturday's English Premier League action produced a big opportunity for Brighton's Cameroonian midfielder Carlos Baleba and West Ham United's Mohammed Kudus to boost their clubs' fortunes and the African internationals obliged.

In the end, it was Baleba who led his team to the glory of three points after the Cameroon national team starlet produced a moment of magic to give Brighton the victory in second half stoppage time. After a short corner was cleared beyond the edge of the West Ham penalty area, a recycled attack gave Baleba plenty of time to create a beautiful curled effort that won the match.

It was a devasating result for West Ham, who held a 2-1 lead away from home until Kaoru Mitoma's equalizer in the 89th minute for Brighton. After coming under plenty of criticism for lesser performances, Ghana national team star Mohammed Kudus appeared to give the Hammers three points with his early second half goal form a Jarrod Bowen cross.

But West Ham's underwhelming form under Graham Potter continued courtesy of Baleba's late match winner. There is no relegation danger for the 17th placed London club but Kudus is among the players looking for greener pastures with plenty of transfer rumors swirling.

Baleba's Brighton side remain with an outside chance of qualifying for European club competition next season. The Doves are 9th place, six points behind Aston Villa for a place in the UEFA Europa Conference League. Baleba has four goals and two assists in 36 appearances across all competitions this season.
