The dynamic duo of Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa were at it again on Saturday. Cameroon national team star Mbeumo scored twice and DR Congo star Wissa produced a goal and an assist as Brentford ended a three-match winless run with their 4-2 English Premier League victory over Brighton on Saturday.

After Mbeumo opened the scoring in the 9th minute, visitors Brighton provided resistance through Danny Welbeck's equalizer just before halftime. However, Wissa's lay off allowed Mbeumo to put the hosts back ahead in the 48th minute (video above) and that was all the Bees needed.

After Mbeumo put Brentford back into the lead, ten minutes later the Cameroon star set up Wissa for his 16th Premier League goal of the season to double the lead.

Brighton pulled one back through Kaoru Mitoma in the 81st minute but victory was secured for Brentford when Christian Norgaard scored in stoppage time. Brentford's form remains uneven but the Bees continue to be in contention for a place in Europe if they can build an extended run of victories.

The club based in West London are in 11th place but only six points back of Chelsea FC who hold the final European qualification place for the UEFA Europa Conference League. Mbeumo, who moved into the club's top-15 list of all-time goal scorers, has 18 goals and 6 assists in 33 Premier League matches. Wissa has been just as productive with 16 goals and 3 assists in 30 appearances.

After almost two weeks off, Brentford return to action on May 1 with a difficult test away from home at Nottingham Forest.
