Head coach of Asante Kotoko Prosper Narteh Ogum has backed misfiring striker Isaac Mintah to find his scoring boots.

Mintah has made two appearances and is yet to score this season since joining the Porcupine Warriors on a free transfer. Prosper Ogum calls for patience for the former Aduana Stars attacker.

“Playing for Kotoko, it comes with a whole lot of expectations and he needs to weigh down on the expectation,” Narteh Ogum told the media.

“If you talk to him, you can see that he thinks that more is expected of him and once a player begins to think like that, it affect his skill execution.

“So the best thing to do now is to keep talking to him. For playing, he plays well, he is somebody who can very well behind the defenders, he is very intelligent. But it is about the expectations that have been placed on him, looking at what he did at Aduana and before he went and then he came back playing for Kotoko.

“He wants to replicate the form at Kotoko, he wants to replicate that goal scoring prowess and that one comes with a lot of composure.

“So that’s what as a coach and as a technical team and even the supporters we should do, to try as much as possible to talk to him, we should be patient and the right moment will come."

Kotoko are away to Samartex in week 24 on Saturday and a win will be crucial to their title hopes.
