PSG promotes coach Bouamrane to lead U-17 team

French side Paris Saint-Germain have appointed Youcef Bouamrane as the new head coach of their U-17 team. The 28-year-old French-Algerian former player had been serving as an assistant coach for nearly a year. He now takes on a much larger responsibility.

According to French daily L’Équipe, Bouamrane replaces Yannick Dumas. The French giants made several changes in their youth academy management this week, with Bouamrane promoted to head coach of the U-17 side. With the season nearing its end, PSG U-17 currently sit third in the Championnat National U-17 with 41 points, nine points behind leaders Caen U-17.

Bouamrane had spells in both Algeria and the country of his birth during his playing career. He played as a center-back for Algerian clubs USM El Harrach and CR Belouizdad. This role marks a significant opportunity and undoubtedly the first major challenge for the ambitious young coach.
