Pyramids FC head coach Krunoslav Jurčić expressed his happiness following Saturday's 6-0 victory over Djoliba of Mali in the final match of the CAF Champions League group stage. He praised his players for delivering a strong performance and reacting brilliantly by scoring six goals to secure an impressive win.
Speaking during the post-match press conference, Jurčić highlighted that the team played an exceptional game, showing no signs of underestimating their opponent. They played with full intensity and this victory placed Pyramids second in the group. "We now have to wait for the draw to determine our opponent in the quarterfinals," he stated.
When asked about his preference for a potential opponent, Jurčić explained, “It’s too early to consider that as there’s still time before the matches which are scheduled for the end of March. Things can change significantly. It’s not about preferring one team over another. To win the title, you must be prepared for all possibilities and capable of defeating any opponent.”
Jurčić also revealed that, during the Djoliba match, he was already thinking about the upcoming crucial fixtures against ZED FC, Al Ahly, and Zamalek. As a result, he made substitutions to give opportunities to other players. Abdelrahman Magdy and Youssef Obama responded well, both scoring goals, while the coach also managed to assess the squad’s depth and rest key players amid a demanding schedule of domestic and continental matches.
