Pyramids FC's head of medical staff Dr. Mostafa El Monaiery has revealed the reasons behind goalkeeper Ahmed El Shenawy’s absence from the squad for the Nile Egyptian League match against Tala’ea El Gaish.
Pyramids FC will host Tala’ea El Gaish today at 17:00 GMT at the Air Defense Stadium in the 15th Round of the Nile Egyptian League.
El Monaiery explained that during the previous match against Modern Sport, El Shenawy suffered a severe rib contusion due to a strong challenge inside the box. He emphasized that the player is currently undergoing a rehabilitation program with the medical staff to recover from the injury.
El Shenawy is expected to be ready for the upcoming match against Al Ittihad of Alexandria, scheduled for next Friday in Alexandria.
Pyramids FC currently sits second in the league standings, level on points with leaders Al Ahly but trailing on goal difference. A win in today’s match would see them claim the top spot.
