Croatian coach Krunoslav Jurčić, head coach of Pyramids FC, emphasized that his team is fully prepared to face Mali’s Djoliba in their Group D clash in the CAF Champions League. He stated that the team has been working hard in recent weeks to maintain their strong run in the continental competition after their emphatic 5-1 win over Angola’s Sagrada in the opening match.
Pyramids will face Djoliba on Sunday at 4:00 PM GMT at the March 26 Stadium in Bamako, Mali, in the second round of the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
During the pre-match press conference, Jurčić revealed that he analyzed Djoliba’s recent match against Tunisia’s Esperance in the Champions League. Despite losing 4-0, he noted that Djoliba is a strong team with talented, mostly young players. He acknowledged the difficulty of the upcoming match, especially as it will take place on Djoliba's home turf and in front of their supporters. However, he stressed that his team is determined to secure a win to compensate for their earlier loss.
Jurčić reiterated that Pyramids have traveled to Mali with a clear goal: victory. Despite the absence of key players like El-Shenawy, Ibrahim Adel, Obama, and Igola, he expressed confidence in his squad's ability to win and take another significant step forward in their CAF Champions League journey.
The coach also addressed the recent league defeat against Al Masry, asserting that he is not worried about the team’s overall performance. He praised the strong displays in both domestic and continental competitions and expressed optimism about the team’s ability to improve and advance in all tournaments.
Jurčić concluded by assuring fans that Pyramids are ready and motivated to deliver a strong performance against Djoliba and keep their Champions League ambitions alive.
