The media center of Pyramids FC has issued a statement affirming the club's warm welcome to the delegation and the fans of Tunisia’s Espérance Sportive de Tunis ahead of the upcoming match between the two teams in the fourth round of the CAF Champions League group stage.
Pyramids FC allocated 125 free tickets to Espérance fans in addition to 2 "loge" tickets with a capacity of 20 fans at the Air Defense Stadium for Espérance representatives just as they were given in the previous meeting between the two clubs in Tunisia on December 14.
This statement came after an earlier announcement by Espérance in which they claimed to have requested the allocation of 5% of the approved stadium capacity for their fans during the match. Espérance stated that they had not received any response from Pyramids FC, the Egyptian Football Association, or CAF regarding this request.
Following Espérance's statement, the media center of Pyramids FC issued its own statement which read as follows:
Pyramids welcomes Espérance and its fans
"The Media Center of Pyramids Club affirms the club's deep welcome to the delegation of the Tunisian Espérance Club and its fans who will attend the match between the two teams next Sunday at the Air Defense Stadium in the fourth round of the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
Pyramids Club warmly welcomes the visiting brothers in a spirit of reciprocity regarding the number of tickets allocated to the club in the first match held at the Rades Stadium in Tunisia.
The Media Center of Pyramids Club emphasizes that Espérance Club provided Pyramids with 125 tickets, along with 20 "2 side loge" tickets behind the goal at the Rades Stadium, confirming the closure of the main stand. Pyramids Club decided to reciprocate and allocated 125 free tickets to Espérance fans, in addition to 2 "loge" tickets with a capacity of 20 fans at the Air Defense Stadium for Espérance representatives. The remaining share of tickets for Espérance fans, totaling 355 tickets as per the 10,000 spectator capacity for the match, will be sold, and all relevant authorities, including security entities, have been informed of the agreement.
The Media Center confirms that there is absolutely no animosity or issue between the two sides. On the contrary, Pyramids cherishes its good relationship with Espérance Club, its fans, and all our brothers from Tunisia. The club is committed to providing the best reception and hospitality to the visiting brothers, including an official reception for the Tunisian delegation at Cairo Airport, as a gesture of fraternity between the two clubs."
