Pyramids FC goalkeeper Ahmed El-Shenawy expressed his team's full readiness and preparation ahead of their challenging encounter against Tunisia's Espérance.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, El-Shenawy acknowledged the difficulty of the match, emphasizing that Esperance is a strong, experienced side with excellent capabilities, playing at home in front of their fans. However, he affirmed that despite being a relatively young club, Pyramids possess talented players with significant experience enabling them to deliver their best and aim for a positive result in Tunisia.
Pyramids are set to face Espérance on Saturday at 7:00 PM GMT at the Rades Olympic Stadium in Tunis, in the third round of the CAF Champions League group stage.
El-Shenawy explained that he missed the previous match in Mali due to a severe cold but has now fully recovered and is ready for the upcoming clash. He emphasized that every player in the squad is prepared to give their best and the team is determined to play for victory and secure three points to top the group, as both teams currently share the same number of points.
The goalkeeper highlighted the strength of Esperance's attack and their formidable players. However, he expressed confidence in Pyramids’ own abilities, noting that the team has strong players across all positions and is capable of winning in Tunisia. El-Shenawy added that this is not his first visit to Tunisia, and he is well aware of the intensity and difficulty of matches there. Despite that, he reiterated that Pyramids are a strong side and can claim all three points.
El-Shenawy also revealed that the team has analyzed several matches of Esperance and understands their strengths. He stressed the importance of maintaining full focus until the final whistle to secure the top spot in the group and move ahead as leaders.
