Dr. Mostafa El-Monaiery, the head of the medical staff at Pyramids FC, has revealed the injury details of Nigerian midfielder Sodiq Awujoola who suffered an injury during the team’s recent match against Mansoura in the Egypt Cup.
Pyramids won the Round of 32 clash by a 3-0 score against the second division club with Awujoola scoring the opening goal in the 21st minute before being forced off six minutes later.
El-Monaiery explained that Awujoola underwent medical scans in the past hours, which confirmed that the player is suffering from a knee injury and a ligament sprain. The injury resulted from a strong impact on the knee bone, which is causing the pain he is currently experiencing.
The medical chief emphasized that the player has been prescribed a rehabilitation program lasting three weeks to recover from the injury and return to action with the team.
