Young Africans (Yanga SC) coach Sead Ramovic has blamed their 2-0 defeat against MC Alger in CAF Champions League for missing out key players.

The Timu ya Mwanachi suffered their second straight defeat in Group A after goals from Ayoub Abdellaoui and second half substitute Soufiane Bayazid did the tricky in the away game.

After a 0-0 outcome in the first half, Abdellaoui scored the opener for the Algerian outfit after finishing off a good cross from the left by Mohamed Réda Halaï in the 64th minute. Bayazid then rounded up the emphatic win for Alger after being set up by Kamel Hamidi at the stroke of full time.

"We did our best to win the game but we couldn't but again remember we played minus our key players Dickson Job, Aucho, Boka, Clement Mzize," Ramovic bemoaned after the game. "We should have done better with all our players fit but we don't need to cry too much.

"We have good players in the squad but when you miss your key players it affects the whole system. It was not what we could have wanted but we now shift the focus to the next game at home."

The defeat left Yanga at the bottom of the group without a point. Al Hilal of Sudan, who beat Yanga 2-0 in the opener, are leading with maximum points followed by Alger, who have four points while TP Mazembe are third with one point.

Yanga will next face TP Mazembe on matchday three at the Stade TP Mazembe on Saturday, December 14.
