Young Africans (Yanga SC) head coach Sead Ramovic has stressed the importance of his team retaining the Mainland Premier League title.
The German was speaking after guiding the Timu ya Mwananchi to a 2-0 win against Namungo FC at at Majaliwa Stadium. This was Yanga’s first win in four matches.
Going into the game, they had suffered back-to-back defeat in the league - 2-1 against Azam FC and 3-1 against promoted side Tabora United.
They then lost 2-0 against Al Hilal of Sudan in their group opener of the CAF Champions League. “I am now excited for myself but I am excited for the club to get the win after a very difficult period and the win as come at the right time,” Ramovic told reporters after the game.
“Like I said when I came here, our aim is to win the title, we don’t have excuses for that it our aim, it is our target, so we have to keep improving and win our matches.
“It is not easy, I joined the team and have been trying to change to my style, it is not easy, but I hope the players will soon adapt and do the job, we want to play a very compact game, we want to entertain and I am confident we will celebrate at the end of the season.”
