The red cards keep coming from the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) which has banned referee Allan Simukondo for what it calls ‘below performance’ during the MTN Super League match between Nkana FC and Mufulirwa Wanderers.
In a statement, FAZ general secretary Reuben Kamanga confirmed the suspension of Simukonda for the rest of the season over the manner he handled the game which Nkana won 1-0.
“Two video clips in which you failed to award two penalties to Mufulira Wanderers FC in the game they played Nkana FC on Sunday 2 March 2025 in a week 26 fixture were forwarded to the Technical and Match review committee of the Referees department,” reads part of the report.
“The report from their video analysis based on the CAF models of clip analysis points to the conclusion that you, the referee Allan Simukonda, failed to award two penalties to Mufulira Wanderers FC. Your failure to award those two penalties changed the outcome of the match.”
Simukonda joins Joseph Kalunga who was suspended for the rest of the season for poor officiating. Kalunga was banned for the rest of the season following his poor officiating of a match between Atletico Lusaka and FC Muza on March 1.
Football Association of Zambia general secretary Reuben Kamanga has confirmed the suspension of Kalunga for his questionable handling of the game Lusaka won 2-1.
