A fourth match official is under investigation in Namibia for dressing inappropriately during a domestic league game between Khomas Nampol and Civics FC at Independence Stadium on Saturday.

The Namibia Football Association (NFA) has released a statement condemning the manner of the fourth official’s dressing but fell short of disclosing the identity of the referee.

“It has come to the NFA's attention that the individual acting as the fourth official during the match was dressed inappropriately wearing shorts and sandals... This attire, clearly, contravenes the dress code established for match officials and is unacceptable within the standards of professionalism expected in the league. The NFA recognizes that the official's attire was a violation of the rules governing match officials attire and this incident detracts from the image of professionalism the NFA strives to uphold in its competitions.”

African Stars are the defending champions of the domestic league in Namibia while Khomas Nampol are currently leading the pack in the early stages of the 2024-25 season.
