FUFA Big League strugglers Arua Hill Sports Club have named Uganda Premier League promotion specialist Allan Kabonge Kivewala as their new head coach.
The appointment comes less than 24 hours after the club announced the departure of head coach Robert Omony and his entire technical team. “Allan Kabonge is our new head coach,” a club statement confirmed. “He starts work with immediate effect.”
Kabonge, renowned for his knack of guiding clubs to the top tier, has been out of work since his recent dismissal from Gaddafi FC, where he was replaced by Robert “Kiyenje” Mukasa. He now takes charge of a struggling Arua Hill side that has endured a turbulent season, managing just four wins in 17 matches.
The club has drawn twice, lost 11 games and sits rock bottom of the 15-team FUFA Big League table with only 14 points. With the league entering its final stretch, Kabonge faces the daunting task of steering the Gulu-based side clear of relegation danger.
The FUFA Big League promotes the top three teams to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, while the bottom four are relegated to the regional leagues.
No stranger to challenges, Kabonge brings vast experience and a proven track record, having previously guided four clubs, Aurum Roses, Masavu, Onduparaka and Paidha Black Angels to top-flight football.
