Suffering from a peripheral motor nerve injury since February, Togolese midfielder Roger Aholou has missed several matches, both with his club, Espérance Sportive de Tunis, and with the Togolese national team. Due to this injury, the Togolese international was unable to participate in the Hawks' last two matches, during the 5th and 6th rounds of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in Africa.

His club recently provided an update on his health, stating that Roger Aholou is currently in the final stages of his physical and functional preparation before rejoining the squad for team training. The 31-year-old has shown remarkable motivation during his rehabilitation sessions.

In great form before his injury, Roger Aholou has played 19 matches, including 7 in the CAF Champions League and 12 in the Tunisian Ligue 1 Pro. With the Togo national football team, he has made 20 appearances and scored one goal.

His contract with Espérance Sportive de Tunis expires next June. His market value is estimated at €1,200,000 according to Transfermarkt.
