Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed defender Rushwin Dortley will miss their Betway Premiership fixture against TS Galaxy owing to an injury.

Amakhosi coach Nasreddine Nabi will be looking for a positive response from his team when they host TS Galaxy in a top-flight duel at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Saturday.

The Glamour Boys will return to Polokwane for their home match, marking their first outing in the city since December last year. Both clubs go into the match on the back of disappointing results in their previous matches. Amakhosi lost 1-2 to Golden Arrows, while the Rockets suffered the same scoreline home defeat to Marumo Gallants.

However, ahead of the fixture, Chiefs have confirmed the absence of Dortley. “Defender, Rushwin Dortley is still recovering from surgery, and the fitness of the rest of the squad will be assessed during the week’s preparation for the clash,” read a statement on their official website.

When the teams met in the first round of the league earlier in the season, Galaxy snatched a point with a late equaliser in a 1-1 draw. Chiefs currently occupy eighth position in the league table, with 29 points from 23 matches, while Galaxy sit up in fourth place on 35 points, albeit having played one game more than Chiefs.
