Senegalese star Sadio Mané has addressed the criticism directed at him, stating that he believes he is the most criticized player in Senegal.

Speaking in the mixed zone after his recent international appearances, the Al Nassr winger shared his thoughts on the situation.

"A lot is said about me. I think I’m the most criticized player in Senegal. I don’t have a problem with it. Everyone is free to give their opinion," Mané stated.

He also questioned the result of such criticism, adding, "There are better things to do than criticize Sadio Mané. What does it even get you?"

Mané played in Senegal's recent World Cup qualifiers against Sudan and Togo. The Lions of Teranga were held to a goalless draw against Sudan in their first match before achieving a 2-0 victory over Togo in the following fixture. Mané received substantial criticism for his performances while failing to record a goal or assist.

Senegal currently sits in second place in Group B of the African Qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The standings are as follows after six rounds, with four rounds remaining in the qualifiers:

1. DR Congo - 13 points

2. Senegal - 12 points

3. Sudan - 12 points

4. Togo - 4 points

5. South Sudan - 3 points

6. Mauritania - 2 points
