Fifteen-time Vodacom Super League champions AS Vita Club have officially announced the acquisition of former Proline FC goalkeeper Saidi Keni.

The Ugandan shot-stopper has signed an eight-month contract with the DR Congo giants, bringing his wealth of experience to one of the Africa’s giant sides.

Keni joins AS Vita Club from Ethiopian side Shashemene City, where he signed in September 2023 following a stint with BUL FC in Uganda. During his unveiling, the excitement on Keni’s face was unmistakable as he shared his ambitions and commitment to helping his new club achieve its goals.

“I am excited to join AS Vita Club. The club harbors big ambitions for now and the future, which greatly influenced my decision to come here. I am ready to give my all so that we achieve our set targets,” Keni told the club’s media team.

Before his international moves, Keni featured for Ugandan clubs SC Villa and Proline FC where he established himself as a reliable and talented goalkeeper.

Savio Kabugo, Yunus Sentamu, Johnson Bagoole (RIP) and goalkeeper Abel Dhaira (RIP) are other Ugandans who have played for AS Vita in the past years.
