Ugandan midfielder Sam Tiyo Kintu has opened up about his current season with Shabana FC in the Kenya Premier League, attributing his good performances to hard work, dedication, and support from his teammates and technical team.
“The season is so far not bad and going as per our targets. We only hope to put in more hard work and push for greater limits. When I came here, I had my targets and goals, and I am working hard every day towards achieving them with the help of my teammates and technical team,” Kintu told Pan-Africa Football.
Kintu, who joined Shabana FC in August 2024 on a two-year contract when the club was struggling in 14th place, has been a key figure in their resurgence.
His consistent displays have ranked him among the best midfielders in the league, with Shabana now sitting in eighth place on 30 points from 22 games, 11 behind leaders Police FC.
The former UPDF FC, Express FC, Proline FC, Gaddafi FC, and Kira Young player is also eyeing a Uganda Cranes call-up and believes his continued hard work will open doors for bigger opportunities.
“I want to continue working hard so that I can get bigger opportunities here or elsewhere and also earn a national team call-up with Uganda Cranes. But this calls for a lot of hard work and dedication, which I am putting in,” Kintu added.
With his impressive form, the midfielder remains a crucial asset as Shabana FC aims to climb further up the table.
