Head coach of Samartex,Christopher Ennin has parted his charges on the back for holding Hearts of Oak to a goalless draw in their final game of the first round of the Ghana Premier League.
The former Ghana champions squeezed a home draw against the record FA Cup holders at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena on Sunday, confirming their dominance over the Phobians who have not won a match at the venue.
Ennin, who once handled Berekum Chelsea, took charge of his first job at Samartex following the exit of Amadu Nurudeen and he spoke after the goalless draw.
“You can count the chances they got and the chances we got, we were more on attack but unfortunately in football, that is how it is, it’s draw, lose or win so since it’s being my first game, we will go to the drawing board, do something to bounce back as early as possible,” Ennin said.
“I will really appreciate the boys, they did a very great job, they worked according plan but unfortunately we couldn’t get a goal so don’t forget we still have a return game in Accra so anything can happen,” he added.
Samartex won the Ghana Premier League last season and currently sit 8th on the league table with 22 points. Their second round begins with a home encounter against Dreams fc on Sunday, January 26.
