Uganda Premier League champions SC Villa have strengthened their attacking options with the acquisition of Bright Stars forward Ashiraf Mulindi on a three-year contract.

Mulindi’s arrival comes as Villa looks to bolster their squad after missing out on re-signing Umar Lutalo, who opted for a move to KCCA FC. The 17-time league champions see the former Kataka FC forward as a key addition, particularly to fill the gap left by Hakim Kiwanuka’s departure to Rwanda’s APR.

The forward, who scored three league goals last season, including one against his new club has already found the net twice this campaign.

SC Villa also parted ways with winger Peter Onzima and defender Edward Masembe, both of whom had their contracts terminated.

After finishing eighth in the first half of the campaign with 20 points, Villa will begin their second half campaign with an away fixture against struggling Wakiso Giants FC on Tuesday, February 11.
