Sekhukhune United head coach Lehlohonolo Seema has confessed that his charges will not allow champions Mamelodi Sundowns to do as they please when the two sides face off in a Betway Premiership fixture at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Friday.
While the Brazilians will head into the game sitting at the top of the 16-team league table with 48 points from 18 matches, Sekhukhune are currently placed third with 31 points from the same number of matches.
In the first round meeting, Sundowns easily defeated Sekhukhune 3-0 but according to Seema, what happened in the last game is a gone issue and that is boys will go to Mokaba to fight for the three points on offer.
“One thing I can promise is that we are not going there to throw in a towel and say we will lose against Sundowns. We will go there and fight for the three points,” Seema told the media as quoted by SowetanLive.
“They are coming to our home, we lost the first leg. But we are capable of winning against them in the second leg. They have collected enough points for us not to even think about closing the gap. And if we can start looking that far we will have a lot of banana peels and it's not going to be nice.
“We have to take one game at a time and we aim to improve our position by the end of the season. Ten games to go is not easy, the log is still very tight. There are a lot of games that are going to be played, we are still in the cup [Nedbank Cup].”
However, Sekhukhune will have to navigate the vital fixture minus Sipho Mbule, who will be serving a ban.
